___ Older Wisdom ______
A king had announced that whoever spoke a good word would be given four hundred dinars (gold coins).
One day the king went out to take care of his subjects
He saw a ninety year old woman planting olives
The king said, "You will die in five or ten years, and these trees will bear fruit after twenty years. What is the use of working so hard?"
The old woman replied that the fruit we ate was planted by our elders and now we are planting it so that our children can eat it!
The king liked the old woman's words and ordered that she be given four hundred dinars
When the old woman was given the dinars, she started smiling
The king asked, "Why are you smiling?"
The old woman said that the olive trees had to bear fruit twenty years later, but I have just got my fruit!
The king liked what he said and ordered that he be given another four hundred dinars
When this woman was given another four hundred dinars, she started smiling again!
The king asked, "Why are you smiling now?"
The old woman said that the olive tree bears fruit only once in the whole year whereas my tree bears fruit twice.
The king then ordered him to be given another four hundred dinars
The minister said, "Holy Prophet, why did you come out so quickly?"
The king said
If I had stayed with this woman any longer, my whole treasury would have been empty, but the wise words of the woman would not have ended.
A good word captivates the heart. A gentle demeanor makes the enemy a friend. Wise words bring kings closer together
Good things increase friends in this world and reduce enemies and increase the reward in the hereafter
You can buy goods with wealth, but the purchase of heart can only be done with a good thing, so become a buyer of heart, do not become a seeker of wealth.
